The importance of  KICK:

Strong legs sit at the base of every fast swim. They support body line, tempo, and speed. Look at the best swimmers, their legs are their engines. Too many swimmers treat kick sets like a break. Laying on the board, talking, taking strokes into the wall instead of kicking. That habit stalls power, timing and race control. Dial into your tempo. Flutter kick, steady narrow. Dolphin kick, around 2 cycles per second. Breaststroke kick toes out snap, glide, reset. When you use fins, use them to build strength, not to cruise. Train the rhythm you want on race day. A strong engaged kick holds your body line, keeps you driving through fatigue, you stay higher in the water, hold better body position, maintain speed, when all others fall off. Strong kickers control races, keep building your engines!
